News: El Porvenir wines found us
The story of how this winery found us or we found this winery is so absurd that everyone - probably you as well - gets the impression we are just good storyteller. Anyway, we like to tell you the story. Think what ever about it, we just leave it to you.
One year ago one of our employees traveled through the beautiful country of Argentina, for professional reasons he visited various wineries. The distances in the vast Argentina and the precarious road conditions with the background that this South American country is considered extremely corrupt, let our protagonist decide that he hired a driver for this trip. Juan was the one who knew the way, knowing the country, in possession of a 4x4 car, charming and on top of that wine connoisseurs. Most dutifully, Juan drove through the province of Salta for ten days, negotiating with the policia over and over again, telling stories of the country and its people, how things used to be and how the gauchos are doing today. Always friendly, charming and not pushy. It did not appear to our traveler to be inappropriate when the driver Juan went to his trunk one evening when he had unloaded his passenger in front of the hotel and took out a bottle of wine from a winery unknown to us. With the words: "Que se lo tome hoy en la noche y me diga mañana como le gustó." (Drink this wine today and tell me tomorrow how he tasted you) Juan said goodbye. With his travel companions, our staff opened the bottle of Boda El Porvenir in the evening and everyone liked the wine right away. A soft wine. Typically Argentinian, a Malbec. Glorious. And so this history took its course. Back in Switzerland, the winery was analyzed in detail, contacted, we ordered samplers. In the team we tasted the wines from the winery El Porvenir (Porvenir is the future). In fact, we have decided unanimously that we want to go forward with this business. The El Porvenir farm fits in perfectly with Landolt and our ideas of what a partner of ours has to bring: a family business with the ambition to produce high quality wines.
