OriginBarolo, Italien

Nowadays the production, unlike previous decades when the winery vinified large amounts of purchased grapes, is much reduced: approximately 50-60 thousands bottles overall. In addition to the grapes of the winery-owned vineyard, small lots of grapes are also processed; these are delivered on trust by vine-dressers of the Barolo area and of the area around Alba that cooperate with the company from several decades. Barolo is the wine symbol of the company as well as its main product. It is produced in two versions, a basic Barolo or vintage, produced from purchased grapes coming from the vineyards of Barolo, La Morra and Novello, and a Barolo Cannubi of strictly traditional style, vinified, as most red wines, in large wooden tuns, with prolonged maceration followed by patient refinement in 40- and 50-hectolitre oak wood casks. The Dolcetto d Alba is made from grapes coming from the Fossati area, while the Barbaresco is the result of the assembly of grapes from Neive and from the hamlet of San Rocco Senio d Elvio, near Alba. The wide company range includes in its list, in addition to important previous Barolo vintages (such as 1996 and 1998), a Barolo Chinato refined for six months in small oak wood casks. It is an extensive range to satisfy the requests from foreign markets and from individuals that have become faithful customers of the company (of which they appreciate the policy of reasonable prices) by visiting it and tasting the wines in the great and comfortable tasting room.
