Sauvignon blanc has its origin in the Loire Valley where it makes the world-famous Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé wines. It is very successfully grown in Nez Zealand, in South Africa, in Southern Europe and in Switzerland. Sauvignon blanc has intense aromas and flavours of gooseberry and grapefruit and shows a lively acidity. It makes a great aperitif when served with cheese titbits and is an excellent match for various fish- and seafood-dishes.
In 1792, three brothers of the family Corti Balerna have founded this company to operate wine business. The company has since remained in possession of the descendants of the founder and has always skillfully adapted to the changing conditions.Today, processes the Fratelli Corti SA Merlot grapes from the many private wineries Mendrisiotto, totaling about 1,000 quintals per year.
