The winery is called Domini de la Cartoixa (The Priory's domain) and as the name indicates, these lands were once owned by the Carthusian monks of Scala Dei Priory. As well as promoting the cultivation of the vines in the Middle Ages, these monks drenched the Priorat with a spirituality which can still be felt as one walks through the old vineyards today.
The winery s vineyard in El Molar ( Catalonia )is made up of eleven hectares of winestocks which are surrounded by woods and open countryside and belong to the prestigious D.O.C. Priorat. Every year the vines are controlled using strictly scientific criteria in order to produce ripe fruit which reflect the terroir and natural surroundings.
